ARYE, A HIP-HOP PRODUCER AND MUSICIAN ENTERING THE NFT ECOSYSTEM TO MONETIZE THE ART

NFTs can mark a before and after in the music industry. Several artists have already joined this trend and today we will know Arye’s experience: how he got into this new technology and what potential he finds in it to be able to sell his works.

Maryland-born hip-hop musician Arye offers his creations in NFT format and says that in 2023 he will put even more energy into linking his art with the possibilities offered by the blockchain.

Speaking to SPOZZ Blog, Arye commented: “I first heard about NFTs on entrepreneur Gary Vee’s YouTube channel and finished discovering the potential this technology could have for my work when I saw that rapper and producer Tory Lanez sold over a million copies at $1 a piece in less than 10 minutes. At that moment, I knew this would be a game changer for the music industry.”

Thereafter, Arye continued to increase his interest in NFTs and the blockchain ecosystem and, currently, such topics appear in some of his works, as is the case of the release he made in January 2023 together with BallOutCrypto: the NFT “Back To The Block”.

This NFT includes a song produced by DaWizardBeats, with lyrics that speak of the struggles and triumphs of life on the street. The accompanying illustration, created by Arye, is a digital artwork that incorporates elements of AI and blockchain technology.

DISCOVERING NEW WAYS TO MONETIZE THE ART

Arye reminisced to SPOZZ Blog about his early days in music: “I started recording with a RockBand Gaming USB microphone in Audacity when I was 14 years old.” Since then, many things have changed, but perhaps there is one thing in common between that teenager and today’s professional artist: that the initiative Arye put into learning how to record in Audacity is the same initiative he now dedicates to discovering new ways to monetize his music through NFTs.

Just recently, Arye has tried another way to sell his art: from a video of him on TikTok turned NFT. That video, only 15 seconds long, shows Arye standing in front of a mall in his hometown of Germantown, Maryland.

Arye converted said video into an NFT and put it up for sale for 0.1 Ethereum. To his surprise, it sold in less than 24 hours. With the said item, the buyer also received a unique edition of all the songs in the “Arye Pack Song” collection, so he has exclusive access to unique versions of all Arye’s songs.

Meanwhile, last February 14 and on the occasion of his birthday, Arye released “1 U”, a song completely written, produced and recorded by Arye himself. This NFT includes a vinyl record with his signature, thus making his first linking of a physical copy with a musical NFT.

NFTs AND NEW WAYS TO BUILD COMMUNITY

Arye found that the NFTs not only helped him find new ways to monetize his art, “From these initiatives, I’ve been able to find more followers and even build a community that really want to support my music and be a part of it on a deeper level.”

“In this year 2023, I will put a lot more emphasis to bring my music together with NFTs, while connecting with more people who appreciate me and the music I make,” the artist told to SPOZZ Blog. And he added: “I will continue putting out quality content for fans and followers.”
